Tournament Name

Counter-Strike 2 5v5 Tournament | CYGN Season 1 - Date TBA (FACEIT)

Season & Format Overview

  • Season Length: 1 Month Online + a 1-Day LAN Finals at GZone Gaming Center (Limassol).
  • Structure: Ladder format during the month; weekly eliminations (see below).
  • Match Format: MR12 (first to 13) Competitive with overtime at 12–12.
  • Platform: All matches hosted on FACEIT official tournament lobbies.

Dynamic Elimination

  • Week 1: All 12 teams play (no eliminations).
  • Week 2: Eliminate the bottom 39 teams remain.
  • Week 3: Eliminate the bottom 36 teams remain.
  • Week 4: Eliminate the bottom 33 teams remain.
  • Finals Week (Venue): The remaining Top 3 compete at the LAN finals.

Scheduling Note: Weeks with 9 teams use byes and/or double-headers to keep the match card balanced.

Weekly Schedule & Math

  • Match Days: 6 matches per week3 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday.
  • Week 1 (12 teams): 6 unique matchups cover the field.
  • Week 2 (9 teams): 4–6 fixtures via byes/double-headers.
  • Week 3 (6 teams): 3 unique matchups; use double-headers to reach 6 total matches.
  • Week 4 (3 teams): Round-robin style to confirm standings before finals.

Fairness Policy: Double-headers/byes are rotated to balance total appearances and opponent difficulty.

Ladder Scoring & Standings

  • Primary Ranking: Total match wins across the month (Bo1).
  • CYGN Tiebreaker Rule:2–1 weekend set ranks above 2–0,” then head-to-head, opponent win rate (SOS), fewest forfeits, admin Bo1 tiebreak if needed.
  • Pairings: Late weeks prioritize similarly placed teams.

LAN Finals Format

  • Finalists: Top 3 from the ladder.
  • Semifinal: 2nd vs 3rd — Bo3.
  • Grand Final: Winner vs 1st — Bo5.
  • The winner is crowned the Counter-Strike 2 CYGN Season 1 Champion.

FACEIT Platform & Registration

  • Club: Join the “Cyprus Gaming Network” Club on FACEIT. All 12 teams must register their team name and each player must join the correct roster.
  • Organizer Page: Tournaments are created under our Organizer and linked to the Club. Teams must register for each new tournament.
  • Multi-Tournament Season: Because of elimination & platform limits, each season runs across 4–5 FACEIT tournaments. Tournament #1 covers Weeks 1–7 (no eliminations before then). Details are posted in Discord.

Team & Account Rules

  • Team Size: 5 players with pre-registered accounts.
  • Accounts: Players must use their own main Steam account as registered. Smurfing/account sharing = disqualification.
  • Linking: Steam must be linked to the same FACEIT account used in matches; it must match the registration form.

Match Rules

  • Punctuality: Be ready 20 minutes before start – in Discord voice, logged into Steam & FACEIT, ready to join the lobby.
  • No-Show: 15-minute grace; then forfeit to the opponent.
  • Disconnects: If a disconnect occurs within the first 2 rounds, admins may allow one remake. After that window, players are responsible for their connection; pauses may be granted but full remakes are not guaranteed.
  • Cheating: Strictly prohibited. FACEIT Anti-Cheat (AC) must be enabled. Confirmed cheating → team disqualification with no appeal.
  • Streaming: Not allowed during official matches.
  • Comms: All teams must be in the official CYGN Discord for coordination and updates.

Open Qualifiers & Fees

  • Who Can Enter: Any team (all applicants processed).
  • Playoff Participation Fee: €25 per team (≈€5 per player).
  • Season Slot Confirmation: Teams advancing to the 12-team season must pay an additional €75 per team. Miss the deadline and the slot passes to the next team.
  • Roster & Media Form: Submit player nicknames, profile photo/avatar, and contacts for broadcast graphics.

Communication & Check-In

  • We use the Team Leader’s Discord, email, and phone for announcements and lobby details.
  • Teams must be online at the published check-in time. Late arrival may result in a forfeit.

Sportsmanship & Conduct

  • Zero tolerance for toxicity, harassment, hate speech.
  • Follow admin/referee instructions; rulings may be issued to preserve fairness and schedule.

Data & Records Policy

By participating, you agree that CYGN may retain your data indefinitely to preserve historical tournament records. Archived events on the website may include team names/logos, player full names & nicknames, player photos, and match results/statistics.

Contact details (email, phone, Discord/socials) may be stored securely for future verification, team history tracking, and event communication. We never sell data and use it only for CYGN purposes in line with applicable laws. To request data access or removal (where permitted), please contact us.
